LawSchool Life Hack: Maintaining your best YOU!

Law School is a different creature, I get it, believe me! But, that does not mean that you need to lose your best self in attempts of being the best law student. Here are some ways that you can maintain the best you WHILE in law school:

  • Create a schedule and STICK TO IT! By this I mean a schedule that goes BEYOND studying. Create a schedule that includes sleeping, exercise, and even snacking if you like to take time out of your day to do so (I know that I do🙂). A schedule can help you find some balance in between law school, studying, internship interviews, etc. It is also important to schedule some ME TIME for things that you do enjoy, even if it's one time a week.

  • Pick a daily cut-off time for studying and homework. You may have been able to pull an all-nighter in undergraduate but in Law School, there’s NOTHING worse than being exhausted from studying, then getting cold-called on by a professor. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. So, set a daily cut-off time for studying. For example, if your studying cut-off is 7:00 PM, stick to it. After 7, you stop all studying, law-school related stuff, and take some time for you to rest, go to the gym, etc. You’ll thank yourself ultimately for taking this time and giving yourself the ability to relax…if only just slightly.

  • And FINALLY, RELAX, it's just law school. I know, I know, it's easier said than done BUT freaking out about it will do more harm than good. Mastering law school TAKES. TIME. It's all about learning your method and lots of trial and error to get to earning your JD and passing the bar exam. Keep pushing, asking questions, and when in doubt, remember, "It's just law school!"
